As a Sophomore student at George Mason University, it is important to have strong female role models to look up to and I have learned to find them in Jane Austen’s novels. Having grown up with characters like Elizabeth Bennett and Elinor Dashwood, the love for strong female characters has done nothing but grown over the years. So, in this project for my History 390 class on digital history I will explore one main question using online text as primary and secondary sources. So, the question everyone must ask, was Jane Austen a woman ahead of her time who saw feminism before anyone really understood just what that was?
